SAT vs ACT Predictor Overview

The SAT vs ACT Predictor consists of eight sections, each of which accurately represents the types of passages, questions, difficulty level, and answers found on either an SAT or ACT exam section. Each section is between 15 and 30 minutes long and contains the number of questions needed to simulate the pace required on each exam. There is a total of 186 questions. The table below displays a breakdown of all sections appearing on the exam. Two five minute breaks are included.

SAT vs ACT Predictor Report

After completion of the tests, a detailed performance report will be generated. The report highlights the performance on each test section and displays the relative performance on the SAT vs ACT as a whole.

The report...

  • predicts the whole exam and individual section scores, percentiles, and strengths and weaknesses

  • will help identify which types of questions are best suited to your test-taking abilities and learning style

  • contains a nine-page detailed analysis of each section with an overall "big picture" analysis

  • helps to identify the expected national percentile for both exams

When it comes to the ACT and the SAT , both exams are widely accepted by colleges, which often prompts students to ask: Which test should I take. The answer to that question lies in understanding the differences between the two tests. The differences are comprehensively spelled out in detail in a blog post I created.

In addition to understanding the differences, it helps to get a real feel of the test by completing official practice questions. Instead of taking 2 full length practice tests (totaling 6 hours), we offer a predictor test that is made up of SAT and ACT questions. The results of this test will identify which test is better suited for a student's test taking abilities.
